Even if the economy in free fall, the popularity of online games is increasing. Features online games continue to experience positive growth, as more Americans, funded by advertising affordable games as a form of escape.

Nearly 86 million Americans have visited the sites of online games in December 2008, an increase of 27 percent over the previous year, said comScore, Inc., a leader in measuring the digital world. Although these figures are on their own amazing comScore also reported that the total time spent online gambling games rose 42 percent.

This means more people playing online games and play for much longer periods. Indeed, a survey shows Slingo Inc., a thought-leader in the casual games industry have to play almost half of all visitors to the casual gaming portal Slingo.com seven days a week. (more…)
